Book review 2-05

Today, I read Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp. I chose this book because I have watched this movie. So I chose this book. But the content of this book was a little different compared with the movie.
In this book, Aladdin is a boy who is very lazy and although he is living with only his mother, he does not help his mother and he is always playing. One day, a man comes to see him. He says he is a brother of Aladdin’s father and he tried to make friends with Aladdin. But he is not a brother of his father. He is bad magician and he wants to get enchanted lamp, but he can not have it, so he thought that he will make Aladdin had it. After Aladdin’s getting the lamp, he doesn’t want to give it to the man, so they fight sometimes. Finally Aladdin get the lamp and he can be very rich and very happy with using the lamp.
This book was very easy to read but a little difficult to explain the contents of this book, so if you want to know more about contents of this book, pleas read this book. I recommend you to read this book because this book is very easy to read!!

I will pay big money!!

I will finally pay the money to have my motor bike repaired this weekend. I had been saving for about one and half without riding on my motor bike. It was very hard for me not to ride on my motor bike, because I love it!! But it will come to me in about two weeks. I am really excited and happy!! I am really looking forward to riding on it!!

Takumasai

Takumasai will be held from day after tomorrow to Saturday. I am not a member of any club, so I do not have to come to school. But I have to go to part time job, because my friends at my part time job place have to go to school to prepare for Takumasai. It will be very tough for me, but I need to get money to have my motor bike repaired, so I will do my best!!

Book review 2-04

I read On the EDGE, The Card and The Three Strangers, and I will write a review of The Card.
Card means the person who is very famous in a town and ,many people in the town talk about the person. In this book, the main character is called card, because he is very famous. He is very good at making money. He is very cool. I thought I want to be as him, I want to make a lot of money in my future, so I respect such a person. I also want to be a person who is called the card.
If you want to be famous or popular, I recommend you to read this book once. This book is very good I thought.

The things that we can not do in the United States

My topic of report of Kaigai Kensyuu
I chose this topic because I think it is very important for us to know them, because we are learning English and we have a lot of chances to go to the United States compared with other students who are not studying English. If we don't know the things, we may be going to tuck our tail or we may be going to make American people angry, so I think that it is very important for us to know the things we can't do in the United States.
I know that we can't make a noise when we are eating soup, we can’t belch, but there are not many things that I know about the things we can not do in the United States and I know some things that we can not do in the United states, but I don’t know the reasons why we can not do it so I will research and I want to know them well.
In Japan, there are many things we can't do. For example, we can't point other person, and there are many things we can't do with chopsticks because we use it when we eat meal. For example, we can't pass things with them, this is called Watashi bashi in Japan, the reason that we can not pass the things with chopsticks is because we pass the bones of dead person who was cremated in Japan, so it is bad thing in Japan, and we can't stick foods with chopsticks, this is called Tuki bashi in Japan, the reason that we can’t stick the foods with chopsticks is because when we pray, we give foods to dead man with sticking chopsticks, so this is bad thing in Japan. There are many other things we can't do with chopsticks in Japan because we use chopsticks when we are eating meal. In this way, there are many things we can't do in Japan, so I think there must be many things that we can't do in the United States, but we don't know them well, so I want to research and know them well. I think the people who live in the United States use forks and knives, so there must be bad way to use them. I want to research them.
By researching this, I think that I can know not only about the United States but also Japan, so this is very good chance for me to think about not only about the United States but also about Japan. I will research the things we can't do not only in the United States but also in Japan and I will compare.

How to research
I will research in advance with Internet and I will not to do the things we can't do in the United States. I also research the things we can't do in Japan and I want to tell them to my host family.
In the United States, I will ask these questions to many people, and I will compare these things.
I want to make this research very good and I want to make Kaigai Kensyuu very good.

The things that we can not do with chopsticks in Japan
There are many bad ways to use chopsticks because we, Japanese people use chopsticks when we have a meal. Japanese people think it is very bad thing to make someone feel bad, so Japanese people treat the way to use chopsticks. These are famous bad way to use chopsticks.
The most famous and worst way to use chopsticks is called Watashi bashi: Watashi bashi means that to pass foods with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because we pass the bones of dead person who was cremated in Japan, so this is bad thing in Japan, and there are more bad ways to use chopsticks. These are the bad ways to use chopsticks. Tuki bashi: Tuki bashi means that to stick foods with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because when we pray, we give foods to dead man with sticking chopsticks, so this is bad thing in Japan. Next is Sashi bashi: Sashi bashi means that to point other person with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to point other person with your finger is also bad thing in Japan, and to point other person with chopstick is very bad thing in Japan. Next is Mochi bashi: Mochi bashi means that to have a dish with having chopsticks with a same hand. The reason that we can not do this is because to do so is ill-behaved in Japan. Next is Uke bashi: Uke bashi means that to have a second helping with having chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to do it is bad manner in Japan. Next is Kara bashi: Kara bashi means that to eat nothing in spite of touching with chopsticks. The reason because we can not do this is because to be thought that you think that poison is in the dish, because the very important people who lived in Japan before did so. Next is Mayoi bashi: Mayoi bashi means that to move chopsticks around on the dishes to choose what to eat. The reason we can not do this is because to choose what to eat is ill-behave in Japan. Next is Namida bashi: Namida bashi means that to let dew drop from the top of chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to do it is bad manner in Japan. Next is Kasane bashi: Kasane bashi means that to keep eating same dish. The reason that we can not do this is because we have to eat some dishes with good balance in Japan. Next is Hotoke bashi. Hotoke bashi means that to have chopsticks as when we pray. The reason that we can not do this is because to do as when we pray while we are eating is bad thing in Japan. Next is Tataki　bashi. Tataki bashi means that to tap the dishes to make a noise. The reason that we can not do this is because to make a noise when we are eating is very bad thing in Japan, but we can make a noise when we are eating noodles. Next is Yose　bashi. Yose bashi means that to close near you the dishes with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because it is very ill-behaved thing in Japan. Next is Saguri　bashi. Saguri bashi means that to look for something that you want to eat in the dishes. The reason that we can not do this is because to look for something in your dish is very bad thing, and we have to keep dishes clean in Japan. Next is Mogi bashi. Mogi bashi means that to wrench rice off from chopsticks with your mouth. The reason that we can not do this is because it is very ill-behaved thing in Japan. Next is Kaki bashi. Kaki bashi means that to scratch your body with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to use chopsticks to scratch your body is very bad thing in Japan because we use chopsticks to eat. Next is Kami bashi. Kami bashi means that to bite you chopsticks. The reason we can not do this is because to do this is ill-behaved thing in Japan. Next is Arai bashi. Arai bashi means that to wash your chopsticks in your soup while you are eating. The reason that we can not do this is because to wash your chopsticks in your soup is very bad thing in Japan. Next is Zika bashi. Zika bashi means that to eat something from the big dish directory. The reason that we can not do this is because to eat from the big dish directory is bad thing because all the people in your family will eat the dish, so you can not do this in Japan. Next is Komi bashi. Komi bashi means that to pack something into your mouth with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to do this is ill-behaved thing in Japan. Next is Seseri bashi. Seseri bashi means that to pick food with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because if we do this, we can not keep our dish clean. Next is Chigai bashi. Chigai bashi means that to use a different pair of chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to use different pair of chopsticks is ill-behaved thing in Japan. Next is Hane bashi. Hane bashi means that to remove foods that you do not want to eat with chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because to choose what to eat is very bad thing in Japan. Next is Naburi bashi. Naburi bashi means that to suck chopsticks. The reason that we can not do this is because it is very ill-behaved thing in Japan.　
The things that we can not do this in the United States
I asked some people who were my host family, teachers, and my friend’s host families in the United States about the things that we can not do with knives and forks when we are having meal in the United States. There are a lot of things we can not do with chopsticks when we are having meal in Japan, so I thought that there must be many things that we can not do with knives and forks in the United States, but their answers made me very surprised. Almost all of the people answered that there are nothing that we can not do with forks and knives. It made me really surprised. My host father said that the United States is the country of freedom, so the people in the United States can do whatever they want to do, except bad things. They also said that it is not bad, but to have spoon as babies do is not so good they said. I felt it is very strange that Japan has a lot of bad ways to use chopsticks but America has no bad ways to use forks and knives, but I thought that is the difference of the way of thinking of people of the country.
When I was eating steak, I always have fork with left hand and knife with right hand, and I cut the steak not changing the hands, but in the united states, when I was doing that, my host father asked me that I am left handed. I answered no and I asked the reason why he asked the question. He answered that in the United States, if the man cut something knife with right hand, when the man eat it, he put the knife on the table and move fork from left hand to right hand. It also made me surprised.
Result
As a result of my research, there are a lot of bad ways to use of chopsticks in Japan, because Japanese people use chopsticks when they have a meal and they worry about what other people feel and think about them. However there are no bad ways to use knives and forks, because American people treat freedom, so I think they can do however they want to do, but some people said that to have spoon as babies do is not good they said.
This result is very interesting I think, because the difference of thinking between American people and Japanese people is appeared there. I think there must be some differences between other country people and Japanese people, so I thought I want to research that and I want to know that too.
Sentiments about Kaigai Kensyuu
　 I decided to participate to this program to improve my English ability and to know another culture. I had learned about other cultures in classes, but I had never been to foreign country, so I had not experienced other cultures. I had experienced a lot thing that I had never experienced, and I could talk with many foreign people with English. I think it made my English ability improved, and I could improve myself, so this program was very good for me. I could make friend with a lot of foreigners, so I could improve my English ability talking with them with joy, so it was very fun for me to practice English.
I also could know some American cultural manners. For example, if nobody is in the bathroom, we have to keep the door opened, not all American people wear their shoes in their house, when they eat rice they put batter on their rice and so on. They made me very surprised.
Anyway I could know a lot of new things through Kaigai Kensｙu program. I had experienced culture shock and I could learn about another country’s culture. They were very good experiences for me. This past summer vacation was the best summer vacation for me.

Kill Bill

Yesterday, I watched Kill Bill. It was shown in 2003 in the United States and Japan. It was produced by Miramax Films and it was directed by Quentin Tarantino.
The story is this. One day main character Black Mamba (Uma Thurman acted) was having her wedding, and suddenly some people who are the members of assassination group DiVAS and the leader of the group is Bill. They came to the wedding and Black Mamba was assaulted. Some people were killed and she was almost killed. After that, she have been sleeping about for four years, and when she got up, she thought her baby that she had when she was assaulted by the member of DiVAS. She decided to revenge on Bill and the members.
There were some famous actors and actresses in this movie. Uma Thurman is shown as Black Mamba who was a famous assassin and she was almost killed by Bill and his members, and she decided to revenge on them. Lucy Liu is shown as Oren Ishii who was a member of DiVAS and she is very famous boss of Japanese gangster, she is good at using Japanese steel. Shinichi Chiba is shown as Hattori Hanzou. He is very famous actor in Japan and he acted a man who was very famous and best steel maker but he retired and he run a Sushi restaurant in Okinawa. Chiaki Kiriyama is shown as GOGO Yuubari who is a body guard of Oren Ishii. She is very famous actors in Japan too. There are some more Japanese actors in this movie.
There are so many grotesque scenes in this movie, for example a man was cut down his head, some people were cut down their arm and some people were cut down their ankle, those scenes made me feel bad because I don’t like to see those grotesque scene. There are animation parts in this movie that the parents of the one of the member of DiVAS were killed, I thought it was good because I have never watched them in other movies that I have ever watched.
I was looking forward to watching this movie because I have never watched this movie and this movie is very famous in Japan, but I was disappointed. To tell the truth, this movie was so boring. There are so many grotesque and violence scenes in this movie, and I don’t like these scenes, so I was so bored. I have never watched this movie even in Japanese, but I watched this in English yesterday, so there are many parts that they were very hard to understand for me, so I felt it boring more. Anyway, I don’t like this movie, so I know there is Kill Bill 2 but I don’t think I want to watch it and I don’t recommend watching them.

I'm hungry!

I'm hungry now, because I overslept today too, so I could not have a breakfast. I need to eat!!!!

It's getting cold!!

It’s getting cold these days. I lost my winter clothes. I was looking for them this morning, but I couldn’t find them. I have to buy new clothes.

I’m so frustrated!!

I’m so frustrated these days, because my motor bike is not near me. It was broken about one month ago in a traffic accident. It was my fault, and I don’t have enough money to repair it. I was always riding on the motor bike, but I have not ridden it for about one month. I can’t stand!! I really want to ride on it!!

Book review 2-03

This week I read WYATT'S HURRICANE, THE CROWN OF VIOLET and The Picture of Dorian Gray. I will write the review of WYATT'S HURRICANE. This book is about a big hurricane, I chose this book because when I was choosing books I found this book and when I was in the United States, this past summer vacation, a big storm came to the city where I stayed and a lot of trees were knocked down, so I became to be interested in this book and I decided to read this book.
Wyatt is the name of main character of this book and he is a young weather scientist. One day a big hurricane. Mabel was coming to his town. His boss and other people were not worried about it, but he was worried. He felt strange, and he was right. Mabel came to his town and it made the town damaged. He and his friend were almost killed sometimes, but they could be alive somehow.
This book was a little long to read for me. This book was not so interesting, but not so hard to understand.
I didn’t know that the name of hurricane is the name of women, so it made me surprised.

Book review 2-02

This week, I read The Prison of Zenda, Who, Sir? Me, Sir? and THE LAST SHERLOCK HORMES STORY. All the books were good I thought, but I liked THE LAST SHERLOCK HORMES STORY the best. I have read some sherlock hormes books, so I decided to read this book. This book was interesting, but I'm really tired because I wrote very long movie reviw, so I don't want to write detail of this book. If you want to know the detail of this book, please read this book.

Toy Story

Yesterday, I watched Toy story. It was showed in 1995 in the United States, and it was showed in 1996 in Japan. It was produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and it was directed by John Lasseter.
There are three main characters in the movie they are Andy, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Andy is a little boy who likes toys very much, and John Morris acted his voice. He has a lot of toys in his room and he always plays with them. His favorite toy is Woody, and Tom Hunks aced his voice. Woody is a toy of caw boy, and he can speak when his string which is his back is pulled, and he is a leader of Andy’s toys. Andy’s toys are alive and they always don’t move when Andy is in the room, but when he is not in the room, they move. The day of Andy’s birthday party, his toys are worried about new toy’s coming, because if new toy is very good, he might be going to be excited about it and he might be not going to play with them, so the toys gathered and had a conference and their leader, Woody made some small green soldiers go scouting. They had a trouble, so they couldn’t know about Andy’s birthday present, but when he came to his room he was so excited and the toys knew what Andy’s birthday present and why he is so excited. The present was a very new and high geochronology toy, Buzz Lightyear. He is a toy of space ranger and he had some special functions, so Andy is so excited. Buzz didn’t notice that he is a toy and he believe that he is a real space ranger, so Woody said you are a toy, you are not a real space ranger but Buzz didn’t hear that. Andy always played with Woody, but after Buzz came to his room, Buzz became his favorite toy, and Woody always plays with Buzz, so Woody was jealous over him and Woody didn’t like Buzz very much. When Andy and his mother went to Pizza planet to have a dinner, his mother told him to bring only one toy with him. Woody knew that before he come to his room and he though that Andy would take Buzz instead of he, so he thought that if Andy can’t find Buzz he must be going to take Woody, so he tried to throw Buzz from the bed to the under the bed, but accidentally Buzz was dropped from he room to out of the house. Other toys thought that Woody did that on purpose because Woody doesn’t like Buzz so much, so they blamed him. When Andy came to his room, he couldn’t find Buzz, so he took Woody to Pizza planet with him instead of Buzz. When Andy and Woody went out for the dinner, Buzz found them and he rode their car. Woody was worried about Buzz might be dead, but he was alive. When they stopped at a gas station, they had a fight and they both dropped from the car. Woody was so sad and depressed because he thought he lost, but he found a car of Pizza planet and they could go there. Woody found Andy but Buzz went to another place, so he had to go there, and they went into a crane machine game and they were caught by Sid. He is a boy who is living next to Andy’s house. He is a bad boy and he always breaks his toys and Andy’s toys know that so all the toys don’t like him and they are afraid of him. They were almost killed some times, but they weren’t. Buzz noticed he is not a real space ranger but a toy when he was watching TV in Sid’s house. When he knew that he was so shocked and he didn’t want to do everything. Next morning is the day of Andy’s family’s moving. Andy is very sad because his favorite two toys are missing. Buzz was almost killed with rocket, so Woody and Sid’s toys worked together to save Buzz and they could save buzz and punish Sid. After that they said bye to Sid’s toys and pursued after Andy. They ran so hard but they couldn’t catch him, they use RC but the battery of it was run out, they were so depressed but they noticed that they had a rocket. They fired it with Buzz’s helmet and they pursued them again and they could catch him and Buzz could fly. Woody said we are frying now but Buzz said they are not frying but they are falling with style. Anyway they could catch Andy and they became best friend. I have watched this movie some times because this movie is very famous and popular in Japan, but I have never watched this movie in English, so it was a little difficult for me to understand what they are speaking. They speak so fast, so I couldn’t hear that through I watched the movie with English sub titles, so I thought that I have to improve listening ability more. Anyway, this movie was really interesting. I knew that there is Toy Story 2 but I have never watched it, so I want to watch it in English.

New muffler!!

I got a new muffler of my motor bike yesterday. Its muffler was broken in a traffic accident few weeks ago, so I had to buy a new one. The muffler of motor bike is very expensive, so I decided to buy it on the internet auction. I found very good muffler and I could buy it very good price. If I buy it motor bike shop, it is about 140,000 yen, but I could buy it about 50,000 yen!! I was so happy!! I’m really satisfied with it!! I’m really looking forward to running with the new muffler!!

I'm so busy!!

These days, I'm so busy, because i have to much things to do. I have to work very hard at my part time job place to get money to have my broken motor bike repaired and I have a lot of home works to do. I think I need more time, or I need another me!! I'm so tired these days.

My new hobby!!

My new hobby is BMX. Do you know BMX? It is a bike but it is not normal bike. It is so tough, so I can do a lot of things with it. I started it last week, so I can not do it very well, but I always practice very hard!! It is so tough sport, but it is so interesting sport!!

The picture is my BMX!! It was about 40000 yen. It was not so cheap, but it is very cool, isn't it!?

I was so shocked!!

On last weekend, I went to Tawara Yama to go for a touring with my motor bike at night. I went here at night because I heard that the view from Tawara Yama at night is very beautiful from my older friend of my touring team, so I went there to see beautiful view.
There is side road which we always go, so I went into the road. When I went into the road, the thing was happened. There was a chain, but I could not see that because it was so thin and there was so dark, so I could not see that and I was caught it and I was dropped from my motor bike.
When I saw my motor bike, I was so shocked because my motor bike was scratched and broken. It could not move, so I was pushing and walked to the big road. It took about 1 hour. It was so hard for me because my motor bike is very big and it is about 200 kg. To repair it, I have to pay about 300000 yen. It is too much for me. I have to work very hard and I have to save money!!

Book review 2-01

This week I read three books. These are SKYJACK, Justice, KIDNAPPED, and I will write the review of SKYJACK because it was the most interesting I thought.
I chose this book because I thought this book might be good. First, there are two main characters in this book, one is Carl and the other one is Harald. They are in the same airplane and the airplane was skyjacked. Carl is the husband of the country which the skyjacking was held, and Harald is a police officer and Carl’s friend.
The requests of the criminals were to be free their two companies from the prison which is near the airport, and to refuel the airplane to go away to another country.
The president of the country had to do very difficult decision, because there are not many people but also her husband, so she tried to think the best way to solve the problem. When she was thinking, first man was killed, and the criminals found her husband was in the airplane and who is that, so her husband was almost killed. She decided to receive their request to save the people, but she was not stupid. When their company goes into the airplane, soldiers threw some grenades which sends out very strong flash light, and many soldiers go into the airplane. In this way, the skyjacking was solved.
This book was very long, but I could read this book very easily because this book was really interesting. I like this book, so I recommend you to read this book, if you are interested in this book.
