I watched The School of Rock yesterday. This movie is a comedy movie. This movie was shown n 2003 in the United States, and it was shown in 2004 in Japan. It was directed by Richard Linklater, and it was produced by Scott Aversano, Steve Nicolaides and Scott Rudin.
The main character of this movie is Dewey Finn. He is acted by Jack Black. He loves rock music very much and he had his rock band, but one day, he was fired suddenly his band because he is very selfish and he can’t play music very well. The members of his band want to win a rock band contest, so they decided to fire him and get a new member instead of him. After that he got very disappointed and he went home. Then his roommate and his girlfriend came home. Their names are Ned Schneebly and Patty. Ned is Dewey’s best friend but Patty doesn’t like Dewey so much because he is lazy and he doesn’t pay money of the room. They came to Dewey’s room to ask him to pay the money but he said that he can not pay the money because he doesn’t money. They got upset and they said that if he wouldn’t pay money more, he will not be able to live there. The other day, when Ned is out of the room, Dewey got a phone call to Ned from a school. It is to ask Ned to work in the school. Dewey needed to get money, so he lied and he decided to work in the school instead of Ned. The school is very strict and the way of teaching was determined. He didn’t go to school to teach children but to get money, so he didn’t teach. One day, when he saw the children are taking a music class, he thought we want to teach them rock music. He thought they are really good instruments players, so he wanted to make rock band with them and take part in the rock band contest to get money. The children are very good at playing instruments and singing songs, so he liked the children, and he want to take part in the contest not to get money but to make memory. The other day, a letter from the school came to his house and it was for Ned. It was a check. He wondered why the school sent it for him and he tried to call the school to ask the reason. Dewey stopped him to do it and he told the reason and what he did. He asked him not to say it to other man because he really wants to take part in the contest with them. After that when he is participating in a meeting with parents of children of his class, Ned, his girlfriend and police came there, and he was asked to come there. Ned didn’t say the secret but his girlfriend noticed the secret and she got upset and she called the police. All the people knew his secret and all the people got upset. He became not to be able to go to school and teach the children. The next day, the children went to his house because they liked him very much and they really wanted to take part in the contest, and they decided to go to take part in the contest. The parents noticed that and the parents and a principal of the school went to a hall to see the contest. The children and Dewey did really good performance and the audiences were really impressed. They couldn’t win the contest, but they became really famous and popular rock band.
I thought this movie was really good. I could really enjoy watching this movie. I have known the title of this movie, buy I have never watched this movie, so I could enjoy. I watched this movie in English first, but it was a little difficult for me to understand, so I watched this movie in Japanese with English subtitle. I liked the scene that they are playing rock music the best. I think this movie is really good movie.
