I watched Romeo and Juliet yesterday. It is Leonardo DiCaprio version and it was shown in 1996 in the United States and it was shown in 1997 in Japan. It was produced by Twentieth Century Fox Film and it was directed by Baz Luhrmann.
There are two main characters. They are Romeo and Juliet. Romeo is acted by Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio and Juliet is acted by Claire Danes. There are many other characters and they are all individual.
The story of Romeo and Juliet is this. Romeo’s family and Juliet’s family are discord. One day, Juliet’s family has a big party, and Romeo and his friend go to the party to see a girl whom Romeo crushes on her、but he happened to see a very cute girl whom he don’t know who she is. The girl is Juliet they both don’t know who they are so they wear their heart upon their sleeve, but they are found by Juliet’s mother. Her mother said that Romeo is a man of Montague family, and Juliet can’t be his girl friend. After the party, Juliet agonizes and she say very famous phrase. It is O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?. Then, Romeo creeps into Juliet’s house to see her and they promise that they will get marry. The next day her nurse visit to Romeo to make sure his determination to marry Juliet and he said yes. After her nurse comes back to her house, she is ill at ease because her nurse tantalizes his answer. After hearing his answer, she got very happy. The day, they have wedding and they get married. After their wedding Romeo goes to see his friends, but they are having a quarrel with a man who is Juliet’s family. He tried to stop them because he got married with Juliet, but his best friend was knifed and killed by her cousin. He got very angry and he goes over and he killed the Juliet’s cousin, so he become to have to go out from his town immediately and if he will come back to his town he will be killed. Juliet becomes very sad and she cries and cries, then Romeo creeps into her room and they sleep together. The early morning of the next day, Romeo have to go, because he can not be seen by the people of the town. They promise that they will get married someday and Romeo goes away. Her father decides to make her to be a wife of Dave Paris, but she say no. Her father gets mad and says if she doesn’t marry Paris, her father will break his ties with her. She gets so sad and go to see Father Laurence. He gave her advice, but it is very dangerous plan. The plan is this. She will drink a poison and become apparent death. Then Father Laurence sent a letter to Romeo and after Juliet’s waking up, they will run away. To make the plan succeeded, she drink the poison, and the father send the letter to Romeo, next morning Juliet’s family found dead Juliet, the letter is not read by Romeo and he knows that Juliet is dead, so he go back to the town and he goes to the church where she is sleeping. He cries and cries, and he drunk a poison to kill him self. Then Juliet wakes up. She fell glad a little bit, but she notices that he drink poison up, and he dies. She cries and decides to kill herself too. She takes gun and shoots her head and dies.
I thought that this movie is not so fun to watch because I thought this movie is just a love story and I do not like such kind of movie, so I thought that. After finish watching this movie my image was broken. This is not just a love story but this movie includes action and comedy, so I really could enjoy watching this movie. I watched this movie in English with English subtitle first, but there are a lot of English words that I didn’t know the meaning of them, so I watched the movie in Japanese with English subtitle again. It was very good movie so I could enjoy watching. I think this movie is very good movie, so I can recommend this movie to many people who have never watched this movie.
